Analysis of Resume by Dorothy Parker

POEM:

Razors pain you;
Rivers are damp;
Acids stain you;
And drugs cause cramp;
Guns aren’t lawful;
Nooses give;
Gas smells awful;
You might as well live.

About the Auther:

Dorothy Parker was an American artist, author, pundit, and humorist situated in New York; she was best known for her mind, wisecracks, and eye for twentieth-century urban quirks.

From a tangled and troubled adolescence, Parker rose to praise, both for her artistic works distributed in such magazines as The New Yorker and as an establishing individual from the Algonquin Round Table. Following the separation of the circle, Parker made a trip to Hollywood to seek after screenwriting. Her victories there, including two Academy Award selections, were abridged when her inclusion in left-wing governmental issues brought about the being set on the Hollywood boycott.

Cavalier of her own abilities, she condemned her notoriety for being a "wisecracker." Nevertheless, both her scholarly yield and notoriety for sharp mind have persevered.
